Project Background:

After working with the National Folk Festival and Montana Folk Festival, Mainstreet Uptown Butte hired us to promote the city itself. With some witty headlines and touched-up photos, we created an attractive, clearly communicated message. We want to remind people of the city’s rich history and invite them to participate.

Butte is already known far and wide for its influence in the mining industry. Mainly because of the Berkeley Pit. But their history is growing. With the explosion of new festivals, this one-time mining camp has become a hot-spot in Montana again.

Simplicity was key to highlight three key points on each outdoor board. Large, easy-to-read type offset by dynamic photography was required to make them bold and memorable. The photography was provided so we had to touch them up to create some contrast on a billboard.
