Project Background:

The 2013 Montana Folk Festival billboard is a constant reminder of the festival’s presence. After three years of working with the National Folk Festival from 2008-2010, the work continues. The locally owned Montana Folk Festival has replaced the National Folk Festival. In each year we have designed the marketing materials. From the festival billboard to print collateral, web, and digital. We are fostering a brand and style that is now expected. The goal is always to remind people of several things. First, the dates for the festival. Second, what the culture and food are like. Finally, and most importantly, we remind people of the great music from artists from all over the world.

Success Metrics:

The Montana Folk Festival is one of the largest outdoor music festivals in the Northwest. The festival draws around 150,000 people over three days each year. The economic impact is estimated at over $30 million per year.

What You Would Have Done Differently:

As an Arts festival, we always want to explore more of an Arts angle. The music is a huge part of the event and the photos of the music work great. But, we always wonder what could happen with more of an Arts touch. We continue to fine tune our work year by year. Stay tuned for the next edition.
